Cpl McIndoe was a 20 year old butcher when he enlisted and embarked for overseas service on 5 Oct 1915 with the 10th Reinforcements from Brisbane aboard HMAT Warilda. Also served in the Middle East and was awarded MM in 1918, was wounded in action on 30 Sept 1918 and returned to Australia on 3 Aug 1919. (AWM)
